2011 Cheryl Stearns Accuracy Meet Concludes

Cheryl Stearns’ 3rd Annual Style and Accuracy Meet at the Parachute Center, Lodi, CA

Sixty-five accuracy jumpers (16 teams + 1 individual), from 10 countries (US, Canada, Bosnia, Croatia, England, Australia, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Serbia, Denmark) competed at the Cheryl Stearns accuracy meet, held April 21-23rd at the Parachute Center, Lodi, California.

Cheryl Stearns won first place individual with .10 centimeters.  Pernille Petersen took second with .11 centimeters.  In third place, Michael Burmester with .14 centimeters.  Cheryl’s team, Brazil Nuts, placed first (.66 centimeters), Denmark II came in second (.76 centimeters), and Denmark I was third (.79 centimeters.  Full results are posted on the 2011 Meet Results page.

A great group of volunteers judged  (Judges:  Amy Markert – Chief Judge, Dennis Freed, Bertie Bodine, Phyllis Williams) and kept score (Score Keepers:  Robin Freed, Joan Williams).  Pilot Randy Pacheco wasted no time in flying nearly fifty loads per day.  The Dauses and their Parachute Center staff were most supportive of the accuracy training camp and meet.

After the meet ended, each team received a bottle of California wine, donated by Dennis Murphy.  First, second, and third place teams received hand-etched wine glasses as their award.  The top three individuals were awarded hand-made fused glass art wine stoppers with wooden holders.

Besides providing give aways for the training camp and meet, ParaGear also donated two $50 gift certificates.  Marcio Araujo and Ermin Dedic were the lucky gift certificate recipients in a drawing held of all meet participants.
